I already paid the ticket... |

I got a speeding ticket a few weeks ago, the first ticket in a very long time. After I sent in the money, I read that there are many better options than to simply go ahead and pay the ticket. Does anyone know if there is anything I can do about it now? Anything I could do to keep my car insurance from going up? |
Clarification/Follow-up by tarot10 on 06/16/05 1:24 pm: Have you contacted the court? I suggest you call them ASAP. It will depend on the clerk, if they want to let you go back to court or not. The judge can give you the option of going to traffic school and keeping it off your record. Some times people are offered the option of community services if they don't have the money to pay.
There is also a law called: Billboarding which you might want to inquire about. It means that the cops can't be hiding to catch you. They need to be in the open. To my knowledge this is a California law.
One time the judge waived my fine because I had a good record (no tickents in over 10 years).
Clarification/Follow-up by tarot10 on 06/16/05 1:34 pm: Ask the clerk when traffic court is held. If you have time, go ahead of time to check it out and see what happens at traffic court.
