Romance, what is it for you? ttalady 02/21/04
From Rare's question it brings up a REALLY good question. As where do we find romance in another. Individually that is!

Personally I was brought up on the flower deal, the jewelry, the sweet kisses that I saw my parents doing from time to time. Finding the fancy night time wear in my mother's drawers when looking for clothes to "steal" from her for wearing to school. As a girl I came some what a customed to gifts of romance vs the reality of romance. Then again it is different to us all.

Romance in my younger years was that of being given a flower or flowers. Having those love letters written just for you. Coming into my late twenties I find romance so.... very much different. As all gifts are wonderful there are certain gifts that truly enlighten my personal feelings and feelings of sensuality as a woman. Very odd things you may find being they are so... very simple (to one) but it just might be "simple" in the eyes of the beholder.

Romance to me has become that of showing and telling appreciation in words, in doing for eachother, in saying how we miss eachother. Saying "I love you" and always meaning it. Saying to the other "You turn me on....". Showing eachother "You turn me on....".

Romance is so easy to find, so hard to hold onto if you give up too easily in life. The most romantic thing my better half has done for me lately was to take a 100 peice puzzle of a computer desk and put it together for me. Not for him, he hates the computer. Just for me, no asking, he just said "I put your desk together for you honey". He even made me my own computer room. Litterally he made it, painted it, carpeted it, the whole shmeal! Wait, no, the latest thing was coming home from work two days ago and he had done all the dishes, cleaned up his stuff that was hanging around the house, and made me lunch (on his day off mind you). Oh... wait, hold on. He called me that day, towards the end of my work day, the beginning of his, and told me "I just called to say hi and I miss you, ending with "I love you"". Holy, make me melt! It was a night to remember for both when he got his pretty a** home! LOL

Of course this is not an every day occurance however not a week passes that such romance is not shared between us. I believe that romance all depends on the relationship and the two that are involved. That romance does change and with time true romance is simplified to those things in life that matter. Romance, and the GOOD romance is not that of what you want in another but what you NEED in another. To show gratitude, respect, appreciation, and finding sensuality in such is romance. The ability to give such and seeing the reward in giving such.

So tell me, do you think I am COO COO, COO COO, or can you relate? Tell me what some of your romantic feelings have been. If you see yourself as romantic, and if yes why if no why?
