Weight Gain from Sugar Intake |

I know that too much sugar intake is supposed to cause weight gain. I am obese, and not just a little bit.
My family members always get on my case when I drink soda or eat some sweet snack.
But I have noticed that eating sweet stuff does not affect my weight. As a matter of fact, once I drank 48 ounces of orange juice every day for two months straight, and did not gain a single pound of weight.
What does make me gain weight is eating too much during my meals and eating greasy food.
So why doesn't sugar intake affect my weight? Are there some people who just can't gain weight by excess sugar intake?
Many thanks,
C.L.
