i asked this question in another area of this site, but maybe someone in this area will have insight that could be helpful also.
my wife is the community relations officer of the pto at my child's school. she is having trouble with the president of her pto. the other day at school in a fit of rage the president of the pto grabbed her by the shoulder and pulled her towards her face and asked her if "they needed to have this out right now" then when my wife told her she should take her hands off her and someone should go get the principle the president backed away mumbled something in a low vioce and then turned and said "your a bitch" to my wife and left the room. my wife then went and found the principle and explained her story and told him something had to be done about this person. she is in the process now of trying to make something happen about it. i felt this was an assult on my wife becuase of the physical force that was used. my wife was not struck or hurt, just shocked and surprised that anything physical happened. someone from the school district came and took statements from all who were there, but nothing has happened yet. my question is what rights does my wife have in this situation and what could be her options to do next if she doesn't get satisfaction? what she told me she wants is the president to step down and not be part of the pto anymore becuase she can't control herself and has a violent temper.
my wife has not called the police and filed a report becuase she wanted the school to take care of this, was that a mistake?
all the police could do is take a report since there was not any actual physical harm done right?
any opinions would be helpfull
