Taking study lessons Geedubya84 02/22/05
Our family is in study lessons with Witnesses. Is that good?

free:: Muslims are everywhere in urban Chicago-land and New York City. Can't speak for rural areas.

      They have no problem worshipping.

Now, just south of where I live, there is a Mosque. Two men associated with the leadership of the Mosque are in prison, one pled guilty to terrorist activities, and the other was convicted by trial of funding a terrorist organization. :):):)

      Peace,

I have met a great many Jehovah's Witnesses who are sincerely convinced they are doing God's work (I live not far from their Brooklyn headquarters).....I may not agree with their beliefs, but I cannot deny that they are fine, upstanding and charitable individuals. On the other hand, I have worked with one who such a totally off the wall zealot, that I tried to avoid him whenever possible. But then, I avoid ALL zealots when I can :) :)

      Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson was scheduled to be charged Thursday with felony child molestation. But there is now a new blockbuster about the self proclaimed King of Pop. Apparently Jackson, found a new religion.

Reports say that Wednesday night, Jackson became a member of the Nation of Islam headed by controversial leader Reverend Louis Farrakhan. Jackson’s brother, Jermaine, converted in 1989 and now, according to Us Magazine's Ian Drew, he brought in Farrakhan’s chief of staff as Jackson’s bodyguard.

Drew says, "Michael’s family has been involved with the nation of Islam for a number of years. This is the ultimate move to get their son back and be part of the family again."

Jackson’s latest religious change follows his marriage to devout scientologist Lisa Marie Presley and his longtime devotion to the Jehovah's Witnesses. With his conversion to the Nation of Islam, some say that Jackson may even change his name.

Drew says, "What they are going to do is cut Michael off from everyone and take full control."

      Hi,
Just wanted to clarify a few matters about Michael Jackson. He is no longer a Jehovah's Witness, nor does he have any association nor affiliation with the Jehovah's Witnesses. He has disassociated himself from Jehovah's Witnesses years ago and if he didn't the Congregation would have disfellowshiped him for his actions.

Just wanted to make that clear. None of Jacksons family are associated with Jehovah's Witnesses any more, except maybe the mother. All I know is that anyone who can support a child melestor is not a Jehovah's Witness.

      Thank you,
      Hope12

Thanks for the update on Michael Jackson...that poor soul is so caught up in his own publicity that he may NEVER find peace.
Being so far removed, it is difficult (for me, at least) to judge whether Michael is simply confused, or a psychotic child molester....sincerely looking for God, or merely making a mockery of ALL beliefs. I would like to give him the benefit of the doubt, but his actions, at times, are so grotesque that it is almost impossible to see him as anything other than the "monster" the press makes him out to be.
I DO know that the "Nation of Islam" is a highly dangerous, radical, group...especially since Louis Farrikan has become leader.

for Aton! in answer to your asking me why I dont think it a good idea You will note I clarified my self by saying that it was just my oppinion. My reason (also just my oppinion) leads me back to a previous answer about Christians who put thier brains on hold.I feel the witnesses are one of the organisations that convince folks to do just that! the thoughts of the organisation take presedence over all others if one belongs to this "cult" (In again my own oppinion) the folks ive encoutered in my life time (a long time)who joined up with this organisation spout only the party line, and are closed to all other thoughts.Of cource it is not only the witnesses but many other organised religious entities who do this .one wishes they would get out of the ""GOD Business"" and devote themselves to Gods business if you know what I mean.
