I'm greatly disturbed by a statement I just witnessed on the PBS program "newshour"
An american female was being interviewed regarding the Late Pope and she said "we know he will always be there and we can pray to him"
Surely catholics dont equate the Pope to God, to Christ, don't think he now has any ability to answer prayer, surely the catholic church has moved on from this nonsense of saints as intercessors |

We can pray to anyone. Praying is a form of comunicating. Dont you think the people pray to their dead loved ones. Communication between loved ones is possible.
As far as asking, seeking and knocking. Asking, seeking and knocking in Jesus name is the ultimate communication with God. No one can replace Jesus. The Pope did live a life according to God's will and was an example of how Jesus wants us to live. That does not mean we start to pray to him. We can certainly pray for him and communicate through prayer.
Jesus is Lord.
