Hi Anon,
Although Zeus queen was indeed Hera and he loved her dearly, he was also fond of Grecian girls. He had many mortal wives, mistresses and lovers, or whatever you want to call them. In his mind, Zeus thought the more wives he had, the more children he would have. And that was all the better for Greece for each child of Zeus would carry on some of his greatness! However, Hera did not see this line of reasoning and went into a jealous rage almost everytime she heard of Zeus being with another mortal girl. Unfortunate was the mortal bride of Zeus when Hera found out!
Here is the list of the more famous wives of Zeus. Youve got to hear how Hera handles each of them!
These are the few goddesses Zeus was married to before Hera:
Metis
Themis
Mnemosyne
And these are Zeus mortal wives, after he married Hera:
Io
Maia
The Pleiades
Semele
Leda
Callisto
Alcmene
Leto
Europa
There were quite a few others, but these are the most famous ones. Should you require more information, please let me know it.
