The Koran and STAR WARS |
denberg |

I can't be bothered to read the Koran, so can someone answer this for me:
Some scholars say the Koran says that women should be dressed modestly at all times. Fundamentalists say this means that women should wear the Burkha with just a slit for their eyes - effectively making them look like extras in STAR WARS.
Who's right?

The Koran and Sunnah, or teachings of the Prophet, instruct Muslim women to cover their whole body, except for the hands and face, with loose and nondiaphanous clothes. They make no mention of form, style and color, leaving the door open to personal interpretation.
Obviously, strict fundamentalists take the requirement to cover the body to the extreme. |
