Is size related to significance?
..........................................................It is often argued that in the immensity of the universe life on this planet has little or no significance. Has much weight do you attach to this argument?.......................................................

what is significance.....

In this context I could say,that significance
would be equal to usefulness at all,leaving the human factor out.

Anything has it's usefulness.
Therefore the answer would be:No.

Significance is by it's character a relative
understanding.
To understand the meaning of 'significance',one has to know the context in which the word is used and the relations of the subject to it's environment and still leaving out the human factor.

However,we cant ignore our implicit known and unknown limitations,the latter which might be of significant importance to our ability to render a highly qualified answer to this question....

Do we understand the Universe?
Do we understand usefulness?

In our limited world with our limited brains we may qualify and judge anything significant (or not..),but we must never ignore the other (unknown) one laughing out loud..........!

When I look to myself I know size isnt of any significance to performance....

So the answer with the most significant significance might be found here....
Leaving out the (other) humans' factors of course....
